Kuta Carnival 2005

Kuta ? The activity to enliven tourism in Kuta post the bombing in Legian wrapped in ?Kuta Carnival? will be held for its third time, next June 25 to July 3, 2005 at Kuta beach and vicinity.
?So be ready to enjoy various entertainments, foods, and beverages, joining competitions, and watching cultural performances at Kuta beach, with families or friends,? said Gilda Sagrado, the public relations consultant of Kuta Carnival, recently, in Kuta.
The theme brought for this time is ?A Celebration of Life, Summer Fun?. The event is in perfect time with school holiday and high season in the coming of foreign holidaymakers to Bali.
Various programs such music festival with bands on the sand will color the carnival 2005 for 7 days at three stages at different locations. The music ranges from hip hop, punk, jazz, rock, pop, to the mix of blues, ?world music?, and ethnic music. Hence they are music for all tastes.
The biggest blissful parade will be presented on July 3 with the route in Kuta and Legian. Domestic and foreign tourists spending holidays in Bali can witness and enjoy directly the free charge attractions offered by the event.
Food festival has always been in big success for each year for the carnival as it attracted thousands of visitors each night presenting mouthwatering foods.
Gilda explained the food festival that offered foods with affordable prices would last for two days, on July 2 and 3. Lines of stalls will offer luscious foods from various restaurants and hotels? kitchens in Kuta area.
To those who like water sports, various competitions are going to be held, namely beach volley ball, beach football, surf, and body boarding competition. Local and foreign famous teams will cheer up the sporting activities.
The other sporting activities competed were such as speed climbing and bouldering, park-skating, Jukung (Balinese traditional boat) race, and kite surfing, she said in a promotional tone.
Kuta Carnival is a remembrance for the horrifying bombing tragedy taking the lives of locals and foreigners in Kuta. The event is to remind people that the clock is ticking and they should not lose hope.
She said the carnival was held for the first time in 2003 with the theme ?A Celebration of Life, a Remembrance of Life?, and quickly pulled the sympathy of various sides that hoped the world reached its dream of peace.
The following year, again, it was conducted under the theme ?A Celebration of Life, Tri Hita Karana?. ?Tri Hita Karana? is a Hindu concept of balance between humankinds, humankinds and natures, and humankinds with their God. The success derived by every celebration of Kuta Carnival makes it be an annual agenda awaited by locals (Balinese and non-Balinese) and foreigners alike. *pry/ant
